The Game
The Game
Handball is a competitive game in which either hand or either fist may be used to serve and return the ball. The objective is to win each rally by serving or returning the ball so the opponent is unable to keep the ball in play. A rally is won when one player is unable to return the opponent's shot to the front wall before it touches the floor twice, or when a player returns the ball so that it hits the floor before striking the front wall. Four-wall handball may be played by two, three or four players. When played by two, it is called singles; when played by three, cutthroat, and when played by four, doubles. Points are scored only by the serving side when it serves an ace (un-returnable serve) or wins a rally. When the serving side loses one rally in singles or two rallies in doubles, it loses the serve. Losing the serve is called an "out". A match is won by the first side winning two games. The first two games of a match are played to 21 points. In the event each side wins a game, a tiebreaker is played to 11 points.

Kelab Bola Baling PTSB v/s Skuad Bola Baling SMKJunjung
03/03/2009- Junjung Kulim.....satu perlawanan persahabatan bola baling diantara PTSB dengan Sek Men Keb Junjung telah diadakan....dan resultnya amat membanggakan dimana pasukan lelaki PTSB menang (3-0) manakala pasukan wanita memenangi perlawanan dengan jaringan (3-2).....tahniah diucapkan pada semua player kelab handball ptsb..........

Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six players and a goalkeeper) pass and bounce a ball to throw it into the goal of the opposing team. The team with the most goals after two periods of 30 minutes wins.
Modern handball is usually played indoors, but outdoors variants exist in the form of field handball (which was more common in the past) and beach handball. American handball is a completely different sport.
Goals are scored quite frequently in handball; usually both teams score at least 20 goals each, and it is not uncommon to have a match end 33-31. This was not true in the earliest history of the game, when the scores were more akin to that of ice hockey. But, as offensive play has improved, particularly the use of counterattacks (fast breaks) after a failed attack from the other team, goal scoring has increased
The game is quite fast and includes body contact as the defenders try to stop the attackers from approaching the goal. Contact is only allowed when the defensive player is completely in front of the offensive player, i.e. between the offensive player and the goal, this is referred to as a player sandwich. Any contact from the side or especially from behind is considered dangerous and is usually met with penalties. When a defender successfully stops an attacking player, the play is stopped and restarted by the attacking team from the spot of the infraction or on the nine meter line. Unlike in basketball where players are allowed to commit only 5 fouls in a game (6 in the NBA), handball players are allowed an unlimited number of "faults," which are considered good defense and disruptive to the attacking team's rhythm.

Perancangan Aktiviti
1.0 PENGENALAN
Kelab Bola Baling merupakan antara kelab terbaru yang diperkenalkan bagi pelaksanaan modul kokurikulum R2001 bagi sesi Januari 2009. Selain pelaksanaan aktiviti yang berlaku di kelas dan penggunaan gelanggang dalaman Politeknik, aktiviti juga dirancang bagi pelaksanaan modul di gelanggang-gelanggang luar sekitar kawasan Kulim dan Sintok serta pengelolaan pertandingan bola balingl antara ahli-ahli kelab R2001.
2.0 TUJUAN PEMBENTANGAN KERTAS KERJA
Kertas kerja ini dihasilkan untuk mendapatkan kelulusan peruntukan dari Unit Sukan dan Kokurikulum bagi menjayakan aktiviti yang berlaku di luar politeknik dan pertandingan bola baling antara ahli-ahli kelab R2001.
3.0 OBJEKTIF
Pelaksanaan aktiviti dan pertandingan bola baling ini diharap dapat mencapai beberapa objektif iaitu:

Memberi pendedahan dan pengalaman secara langsung kepada pelajar khususnya jawatankuasa tentang suasana pengelolaan dan pengurusan sesuatu pertandingan.
Memelihara hubungan baik dan semangat kesukanan dalam pertandingan dan persaingan yang sihat di antara ahli-ahli kelab yang bertanding.
4.0 TARIKH DAN TEMPAT PELAKSANAAN AKTIVITI DAN PERTANDINGAN
Memberi ruang, mendedah dan memupuk minat kepada pelajar mencuba sesuatu yang baru bagi menyerlahkan kebolehan sebenar.
Berkongsi kemahiran, pengalaman dan idea serta mengeratkan silaturrahim sesama ahli-ahli kelab dan pensyarah.
Memberi pendedahan dan pengalaman secara langsung kepada pelajar khususnya jawatankuasa tentang suasana pengelolaan dan pengurusan sesuatu pertandingan.
Memelihara hubungan baik dan semangat kesukanan dalam pertandingan dan persaingan yang sihat di antara ahli-ahli kelab yang bertanding.

Sebagai sebuah kelab yang baru diperkenalkan, pelaksanaan aktiviti dan penganjuran pertandingan ini diharap dapat diteruskan dari semasa ke semasa bagi merealisasikan setiap program yang dirancang oleh ahli-ahli kelab bola baling. Selain dapat menimba pengalaman dan memupuk semangat kerjasama, aktiviti ini juga dapat menarik minat dan memberi peluang kepada ahli-ahli untuk terus aktif dalam aktiviti sukan dan kokurikulum. Pendedahan ini juga diharap dapat memberi galakan dan impak yang baik kepada semua ahli dalam membentuk satu keyakinan dan cara kerja yang lebih efisyen.
